Una de esas noticias que cada cierto tiempo sacude la red poniendo de manifiesto la ridiculez de la situación: Detenido un alumno en Texas por llevar a clase un reloj hecho por él mismo. Durante la clase el reloj comenzó a pitar y el profesor le preguntó que era lo que sonaba. Él le dijo que era un reloj casero, aunque pareciera una bomba. Fue decir la palabra prohibida ‘bomba‘ para que se desatara el pánico. Allí acudió la policía y se lo llevó, esposado. 
Así contaba el estudiante de 14 años como fue esposado, llevado a un centro de detención de menores, interrogado, tomadas sus huellas y finalmente liberado cuando llegaron sus padres.El reloj está en poder de la policía como prueba por si es acusado de hacer una bomba falsa (‘hoax bomb’). En cuanto la noticia se extendió por la red apareció el hashtag #IStandWithAhmed donde recibió muestras de apoyo de todo el mundo.
